BIIC Avec Elles : 2 years of concrete impact !

March is Women's Month. On this occasion, we celebrated the second anniversary of the special program dedicated to promoting women's entrepreneurship: "BIIC Avec Elles." This was celebrated through a gala evening held this Saturday, March 22, 2025, at the Novotel Orisha Hotel in Cotonou. It was attended by several female entrepreneurs, representatives of institutions, government authorities, and partners.
We organized this celebration to highlight the program, its achievements and perspectives. “BIIC avec ELLES” which aims to deploy a set of solutions for women aimed at growing their businesses, has a glowing record 02 years later. It is therefore with pride that Arsène Mahougnon DANSOU General Director lifted a corner of the veil on the assets of this program which offers better access to financing for female entrepreneurship. With around thirty women supported out of more than fifty registered and 3.2 billion FCFA in funding granted, this program has already impacted the following sectors of activity: agro-industry, manufacturing industry, construction and public works, services, education and training… “BIIC Avec Elles” has promoted job creation, increased income and skills building have contributed to creating an economic impact. From the above, this program is therefore according to Arsène Mahougnon DANSOU “a label of financial inclusion” which is in line with the vision of the Head of State Patrice TALON for the promotion and empowerment of women.
Sandra AMICHIA, Head of Mission of the West African Development Bank (BOAD) in Benin and patron of the evening, suggested that this commitment by BIIC is a realization of the theme of the celebration of the 2025 edition of International Women's Day: "For ALL women and girls: rights, equality and empowerment." When women prosper, communities and economies flourish, recalled the patron who encouraged this financial institution to continue to be a pioneer in financing women's entrepreneurship.
IMPACTFUL RESULTS
"BIIC avec ELLES" isn't just about financial support. The program provides support and guidance from professionals such as notaries, insurers, lawyers, and accountants for businesses run by women or with a majority of female staff. Three new initiatives have been introduced to strengthen the program. First, two new partners have been identified to support it: the EtriLabs incubator and the AWEP (African Women Entrepreneur Program). Second, with the new cohort, the program has 32 companies on board, with a portfolio that has grown from 2.4 billion FCFA to 3.2 billion FCFA. Third, a digital platform is now dedicated to "BIIC Avec Elles." This digital space supports women entrepreneurs, facilitating networking and access to resources (training, tools etc.), submission of funding applications, access to mentoring and testimonials, commercial showcases...This program, which encompasses an exclusive package including support, mentoring, advisory assistance, and financing, was praised by Modeste Kerekou, Minister of SMEs, who saw it as a practical implementation of the President of the Republic's vision to see a cohort of SMEs flourish.
After hearing testimonials from the first beneficiaries, the winners of the second cohort received awards as a sign of encouragement to effectively manage the resources made available to them in order to become role models for entrepreneurship.
The BIIC took advantage of this evening to unveil its latest offerings. These are:
- The BIIC Visa Business card, a premium payment card for businesses, facilitating local and international transactions.
- BIIC Mobile: a new all-in-one application (account management, transfers, cash flow monitoring).
- Prestige Savings: a savings solution with attractive rates.
